Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum
The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum is a wonderful place to visit on any of your free weekend day trips! Opened in 1964, the museum was founded by fashion designer Larry Aldrich. Unlike other art galleries or museums, Aldrich Contemporary Art is a non-collecting gallery, meaning it has no permanent art piece or showing. This makes the ever-changing art calendar all the more exciting for museum visits! Aldrich centers community and cultural exchange, offering a perfect place for those looking for inspiration or to engage with local artists. The museum is family friendly, too! Often artwork by elementary and middle school students is showcased. The museum is about an hour drive east of New Haven. Learn more here.
